Can You Avoid Prescriptions With A Healthy Diet?

Millions of people in the United States are taking a prescription medication. In fact, statistics have shown that half of Americans are taking at least one prescription medications. Of that 50 nearly one third of those people are taking two or more medications. Millions of dollars are spent on prescription medications each year. Not only are medications very expensive, they also have unpleasant side effects. The best thing for people to do to keep themselves healthy is to eat a well-balanced diet. In order for a person stay healthy, he or she must get the right balance of protein, fat and carbohydrates along with getting the essential vitamins and minerals. Many of the vitamins and minerals that can be easily obtained by eating a good diet can be very beneficial to keeping a person healthy, which can reduce the need to take a prescription medication.
Additionally, many people who take prescription medications do not eat a good diet. Sometimes, all it takes is making a few dietary changes to get off of prescription medications. It is important for those who already take prescription medications to note that they should not stop taking them unless their doctors say that it is okay.
